Mosaic Multicultural Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, a network of artists, social activists and community builders formed to create cross-cultural alliances, mentoring relationships and social connections that encourage greater understanding between diverse peoples, elders and youth and those of various cultural and spiritual backgrounds. Mosaic recognizes the need to put essential pieces together in order to form a whole, even if it means looking in troublesome or unexpected places. Efforts at problem solving rely on locating the genius of the situation, the unique spirit of an individual, group, or community that becomes a key to understanding problems and fitting the pieces together in new ways.

ShadeTree Multicultural Foundation is a unique organization rooted in indigenous wisdom and practices applied through contemporary methods to mentor the human potential and create intentional communities. ShadeTree draws on the ancient practice of Indaba, a Zulu tradition of “deep talk”, through which conversation returns to its old meaning of soulful communication where essential but hidden aspects of the individual and community are revealed.

A New Way of Life Reentry Project is an advocate for women who are returning from California prisons and jails, women who are homeless, and women recovering from addiction to alcohol and drugs. At the individual level, we provide housing and reentry services, helping women and their children recover from the trauma of incarceration and rebuild their lives. At the community level, we organize former prisoners and their loved ones to remove barriers to reentry, increase resources for prevention and reentry services, and reduce the reliance on incarceration. We envision a society that treats all people with dignity and respect and in which communities unite to support their members to excel.
